The Penwith and Kerrier group of Conwall Ramblers covers the west of Cornwall from Portreath on the north-west coast, west to Land’s End, easterly along the south coast, around the Lizard peninsula and up to and including the Helford river estuary. The landscape is varied with the coast path, beaches, harbours, archaeological sites, old mining sites, open moors and hidden valleys. They have a walk at least once a week all year round led by local leaders.
CTC Cornwall is a "Local Group" of the CTC. A Local Group represents CTC members in a particular geographical area. In the case of CTC Cornwall this is the whole of Cornwall. Thus if you are a CTC Member living in Cornwall, you are automatically a member of CTC Cornwall. CTC Cornwall is in its infancy - the group was formed in March 2008. Traditionally surf schools have been male dominated and focused primarily on the needs of males. Many women of all ages have expressed that they wish to learn as single gender groups. Often there is less sense of embarrassment, or pressure of male dominance and this leads to a more relaxed and fun environment. The aim of Sirens Surf is to support women and girls to feel empowered and inspired by their own abilities. To be challenged by what the sea and what Cornwall has to offer in a safe supportive environment. There are small group sessions of a maximum of 8 females at a time to be able to give everyone the attention and time they need.
