Farmers Building a Future through Collaboration

27 Nov 2008 - 09:00
Location:
Arthur Rank Centre, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire
A conference to bring together local farmer led groups and networks to enable them to share good practice and experiences of working together.

Regional and national policy makers and funders will be invited to the event so they can learn first hand how public and institutional funding can deliver rural development objectives by supporting groups and their initiatives.

This conference will focus on sharing good practice between farmer-led groups and networks throughout England and will provide a forum for discussing the future options for supporting farming through farmer-led groups. Mutual support and collaboration is increasingly important in the farming sector. By bringing together members of successful groups with stories to tell with individual farmers and
representatives from less established groups the conference will provide scope for learning and inspiration.

The RDPE 2007-2013 stresses the importance of collaboration amongst farmers, with some funding streams encouraging applications from established farmer groups.

The conference will highlight how farmer-led groups are uniquely placed to help farmers get hold of funding from the RDPE 2007-2013 by greater working together.
The conference is organised by the National Farmers Network in partnership with the Royal Agricultural Society of England and the Carnegie Trust UK.

The organisers would like to hear from farmer-led groups and networks that are interested in attending the conference as well as any individual farmers who are interested in working with other farmers.
