Plastic Free Penzance

Plastic Free PenzancePlastic Free Penzance is a new group set up as part of the Surfers Against Sewage 'Wasteland' campaign (see https://www.sas.org.uk/wasteland/about/)

They hope that the group becomes a platform for the community to work together and to promote positive change in order to reduce single use plastics in the town. They'll be working with a range of organisations and businesses, visiting schools and holding beach cleans and other events to raise awareness and share information. It's a really exciting project and they've got a lot of work to do. So, if you'd like to lend a hand, please get in touch with them!

They've had lots of questions on what individual action people can take on single use plastics. So, think what things you're finding it hard to replace? They'll look into the alternatives and share ideas.

Plastic Free Penzance at Pirate DayAlmost five hours of work by PFP volunteers on Pirate Day in Penzance prevented thousands of plastic cups and food containers from blowing straight into the sea. Their team made a massive effort and the organisers helped by taking all the collected items away for recycling.
