Bosavern Community Farm seeks Trainer - £8,900 per annum, including accommodation (32 hours per week)

Closing date for applications: Thursday 29th July 2010.

Bosavern Farm, St JustBosavern Farm, St Just
Bosavern Community Farm is a 32 acre organic farm on the edge of St Just in Penwith, and is being leased from Cornwall Council Farm Service by Lands End Peninsula Community Land Trust. Our goal is to develop the farm as an educational centre whilst producing healthy seasonal food for local consumption. We aim to achieve this by employing an experienced horticulturist to work with the farm management group and its wider community.

Community participation will be an important aspect of farm activity and enterprises – including a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box scheme, a farm shop, and sales direct to local business and community organisations.

To provide growing expertise and leadership we require a Community Farm Trainer to:

  • Manage farm activities on a day to day basis, including growing food, care of the chickens and other farm livestock and general land management.
  • Develop a weekly box scheme, delivering organic vegetables and eggs locally to its members and the wider community through an on-site farm shop.
  • Deliver the educational and training support outputs as agreed with the BCF Management group.

If you have a good working knowledge of organic horticulture and experience of working with groups then we would like to hear from you.

Duration: 30th September 2011, initially.
